Thompson Run Residence

Pittsburgh, PA

A renovation to reimagine a mid-century ranch.  Designed with Leanne Ford and featured as the pilot episode of Restored by the Fords.

Project Type: Residential Renovation
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Role: Architecture
Year: 2016

This project kicked off what would become Restored by the Fords.  Filmed as the pilot episode for the series, the house was a mid-century ranch with a lot of potential but in need of some new inspiration in order to achieve it’s full potential.

We leaned heavily on the history of the home and stayed true to it’s mid-century roots, but also infused the design with fresh ideas. Creating an open floor plan, an elongated kitchen layout, and primary storage through open shelving all help push the house towards a more modern feel.
